TRUFFLE, CHEESE AND RICE

My name is Davide and I run the TENUTA MARGHERITA FARM in Desana, Vercelli.

TENUTA MARGHERITA is a big family, in which everybody works to produce excellent rice, the primary ingredient for a great variety of dishes.

Since 1904, this little piece of land made of water, fogs and herons, has been rewarding my family’s and their ‘mondine’s work: they used to give colour and voice to the rice fields in the Springtime.

Nowadays, we are committed to grow carefully our crops: for some rice varieties we have been recognized the EC certification 834/07, for eco-friendly cultures.
We produce also some brown rice, such as Black Venus and Red Hermes.
Rice and corn flours are the main ingredients for our biscuits, for the ‘grissini’(bread sticks) and many desserts.

We will take you to visit our rice fields , our dry kilns, the old storehouses which have been converted into elegant dinner lounges, where you can book a meal completely based on rice recipes.
You can buy at our ‘BOTTEGA DEL RISO’ , where you find the rice you prefer, after having tasted it.

Visit duration: 2 hrs, best in Springtime and Autumn
Groups: minimum 25 people (if you book the meal too)
Minimum 8 people (if you book only the visit)
Costs: Euro 20.00 (visit and meal)
Euro 5.00 (only visit + 1 present)
